Greatest Snow Depth in the U.S. Jan 1 2012

At an elevation of only 3,200 feet or so, Stehekin WA, located not too far from the Mt Baker area east of Everett and northeast of Seattle currently lays claim to the greatest snow depth in the country at 60", at least from among all reporting stations.

It appears from a map I viewed that some areas that are not reporting stations have received amounts in excess of 75".

By the way, Valdez in Alaska is not too far behind in snow depth at 58".
