That's Stats - Louisville 2011 Year In Review

In my opinion, 2011 proved to be the most 'extreme' year for weather not just here in Louisville, but all across the country.

Here's a breakdown of some of the most notable stats for 2011 that I found interesting....

For Louisville:

We had 4 confirmed tornadoes on June 22 in Jefferson county
2011 was the wettest year on record at 68.02"(old record 64.60")
We had 4 months that were in the top ten wettest for those months (April - 1st, June - 9th, Sept - 9th, Nov - 5th)
We had 2 months that ranked in the top ten warmest for those months (July - 2nd, Nov - 7th)
There were 56 days when the temperature was at or exceeded 90 degrees
20 consecutive days of 90 degrees or above (Jul 17-Aug 5)
There were 3 consecutive days when the thermometer hit at least 100 degrees (Sep 1-3)
133 days were the number of times we recorded at least 0.01"
8 days were the number of times we exceeded 2" in one day
7 consecutive days of thunderstorms produced 7.73" during that time (Apr 22-28)
54 'thunder' days including 2 that did not produce measurable precipitation
